Landmark achievements

In 20 years of its’ inception, NGDO has touched a lot of landmark achievements. The organization has tremendously contributed to strengthening disability movement, building community through capacity-building initiatives, developing a CRPD-compliant policy framework, and executing of laws in favor of people with disabilities.

However, some remarkable achievements can be enlisted as below:

  • 1 Nationwide coverage and meaningful engagement of more than 30000 persons with disabilities representing diverse constituencies.
  • 2 Enhanced organizational capacity, and created an adequate number of policies and guidelines to ensure good governance, transparency, and accountability.
  • 3 Worldwide acceptance as the largest OPD network in Bangladesh Legal harmonization in line with CRPD, enactment of the RPPD Unlocking sections 31 and 36 of the RPPDA through Court
  • 4 Formation a CRPD platform comprising OPDs, CSOs, and INGOs to lead the drafting of parallel reports for UN bodies.
  • 5 Preparation and submission of CRPD parallel reports and leading Bangladesh OPD delegations to constructive dialogue and private briefings with CRPD committee members at UN Facilities, Geneva, Switzerland.
